Piacon jártunk tegnap, most kivételesen nem bolhapiacon:) A Vásárcsarnok életünk fontos helyszíne volt, amíg Budapesten laktunk. Mostanában már jóval ritkábban jutok el ide, de a hangulata mindig ugyanaz. Szeretem. Ráadásul más szemmel is nézi már az ember, ahogy telik az idő. Régen legtöbbször gyalog jöttem, befelé igyekezve, kifelé cipekedve. Felfelé nem nagyon néztem. Pedig kár lenne átsiklani az épület részletei felett...

We went to the market yesterday, this time not to a flea market:) The Market Hall used to be an important place of our live while we lived in Budapest. Nowadays I get here much more rarely but its atmosphere is always the same. I like it. Moreover I look at it differently with the time going by. Previously I used to come here on foot, rushing inside, toting outside. I hardly looked up. Though it would be a waste to skim over the architectural details...
A ma is gyönyörű téglaépületet 1897-ben adták át. A tetőszerkezete vasból készült, érdemes megcsodálni a szerkezetet a nyüzsgő piac felett, a belső térben található hangulatos lépcsőkkel együtt. A tetőt kívülről Zsolnay épületkerámiák díszítik, sokan talán észre sem veszik, pedig naponta megfordulnak itt a Szabadság híd pesti hídfőjénél. Mindenkinek meg kellene tanulni felfelé is nézni...

This still today pretty brick building was opened in 1897. The roof structure is made of iron, it's worth glancing at the framework above the crowed market with the intimate stairs in the hall. The roof is covered with construction ceramic made by the famous Zsolnay works. It is not even recognised by many who daily pass by the Pest end of the Szabadság Bridge. Everyone should learn to look upwards, as well...
Történelem, építészet, hangok, illatok, huzat, nyüzsgés, forgolódás, válogatás, néhány szó a kofákkal, tízórai a pékségből a nagy folyosón. Közben Albi tapogat, pulttól pultig szalad, kérdez, szagol, ha megállunk, nagyokat köszönget, cipel, válogat és csak kérdez, kérdez...
Ha tehetitek, menjetek el, töltekezzetek a látvánnyal, a különleges hangulattal, és persze pakoljatok fel zöldséggel és gyümölccsel. Jön a tavasz, már csak a gyönyörű zöldségek látványától is felfrissül az ember.
Ráadásul innen hazatérve muszáj valami nagyon jót főzni :)

History, architecture, sounds, scents, draught, bustle, whirl, selecting, few words with the mechants, snack from the bakery in the big hallway. In between Albi is grasping about, running from stand to stand, asking, smelling, saying hello when we stop by, toting, sorting and asking, asking...
If you can, go there, fill up with the scenery, with the unique atmoshere, and of course load on with vegetables and fruits. Spring is coming, one gets fresh from the look at the marvellous vegetables. And going home from here you need to cook something delicious :)
